happy birthday, meredith!!

so here are the highlights for today:

• the weather channel lied. it definitely did rain today.
• due to the fact that the weather channel said it would not rain, i found myself once again without my rain boots.
• it was warm enough that i got to wear my favorite skirt today (and tonight)!
• i had a new people magazine waiting for me when i got home
• i had a package from my wonderful mommy waiting for me, too
• i got an amazing present from my mommy
• i went to Tokyo Cafe with my friends and got some incredible fried rice and hibachi steak
• i actually ate the vegetables--first time EVER!! i did not even gag-also a first. i'm such a big girl!!
• i got to have some amazing birthday cake

-that this is the first required book that i've read completely since 11th grade...and i was reminded why i don't read those books :)

- drawing on my newspaper after i read it
- the guy who was dressed up like cupid in free speech alley today

-that the days are starting to get a little bit longer

-that tomorrow is friday, and i only have two, one hour classes

-that i'm going to be teaching high school kids and not middle school kids!!!!

-that i just figured out that there's a setting for black and white pictures on my camera, and that i just figured out how to use the self-timer

happy valentine's day! so, after a long day at work (more about that later...) i walked in the house to find a rose and box of chocolates from my daddy! every year, my dad gets each of us girls a flower and chocolate-that has always been a very special part of my valentine's day!

i LOVE these so much! clorox wipes clean everything, and they are absolutely amazing. possibly wasteful, but so worth it. i HATE touching wet cloths (wet towel smell)-they have such a gross texture. ew. and this dish-scrubber thing is great! again, i hate touching dish cloths because of the wet towel smell and the whole texture thing. so i really enjoy this nice little soapy sponge with the handle so that i don't actually have to touch anything! i know, it's lame, but these simple things make me so happy! Whoever invented these is amazing. end of story. now for some randoms thoughts i've had throughout my day, as well as some useless information...

-so i always see pelham people with photo albums and stuff on facebook that say "the HAM." i always thought that was in reference to birmingham, which has always bothered me because we don't live in birmingham. but, then, i stopped and thought about it and we live in pelHAM. so, it works out. this completely amazed me and i'm very glad that i figured this out.

-the girl who works at brewbachers on bluebonnet goes to lsu (i've only been there once since i've lived in baton rouge)

-i hate when people do not follow the rules. for example: walking in the "exit" door. i especially hate when pedestrians walk in the crosswalk when it says "do not walk." i hate it even more when they act like they own the street, and they think i will not run them over. if you're in college, you can read. there is no reason (except laziness, which is not a good reason) to not just read and abide by the signs.

-bluebell now makes king cake ice cream

-i'm saving all my coins to get them cashed for my "apt" fund. i found a quarter in my car today!! i only need 15 more to have $20 in quarters.

-when i actually (rarely) think about checking the weather, i really love it when i turn it to the station and the time is **:*8-it really makes my day!

-i also love when i check the weather and it says "abundant sunshine."

-so, i tell lots of stories about me and how i'm doing, but not many about Buddy. i don't really have any stories about him, so i took some pictures when we went outside this afternoon. enjoy!

rain rain go away...

so this morning when i left the house, it was bright, sunny, and warm. i knew there was an 80% chance of rain, but there wasn't a cloud in the sky. so, i thought i'd take my chances and go with the flip flops. this was at 8:30 this morning. at 1:30 this afternoon, this is what it looked like...i had the joy of walking through a small hail storm on the way to my car. so many new experiences in the everyday life of a college student :)
so my feet were soaking wet, but at least i didn't have water standing in my tennis shoes!! i decided i should go and change before going to work...
so, the polka-dot rainboots made their debut! i had to park in the back of the parking lot at work today, which meant that i got to cross a lot of puddles. instead of tip-toeing and trying to leap across like i normally do, i stepped and splashed in EVERY puddle!! and i'm happy to report that my feet did not even get a little wet! woo!! and apparently, polka dot rain boots are "hott" (this is coming from the same source that identifies me as "miss super hott after care lady").
